Dominik Kreuzer was born in 1968 in the Austrian city of Graz. From 1981 to 2001 he lived in the United Kingdom, where he went to secondary school and – in 1991 – completed a B.Eng. (Hons) degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Bristol Polytechnic (now the University of the West of England). He has also worked as a project engineer and software developer at Imperial Tobacco Limited, Bristol. Since 2009 he is a qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). Although German is his mother tongue, he is a native speaker of English, having lived, studied and worked in the UK for much of his childhood and adult life.
|
Having a natural affinity with languages, Dominik combines his skills in this area with his engineering background as a technical translator. He has some experience as an interpreter and holds an RSA/UCLES Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language but now works exclusively as a German to English and English to German translator.
With frequent visits to the UK and as an active member of tekom (German professional association for technical communication and information development), he continues to develop both his specialist technical and his linguistic knowledge as a freelance translator, with
satisfied customers throughout Europe as well as Australia and the USA.
